Oberjoch stretches across a wide and sunny plateau at an altitude of approximately 1,200 meters and is considered the highest ski and mountain village in Germany. Whether you're a skier, hiker, or just a nature lover – in Oberjoch, you'll find your personal paradise amid the Allgäu Alps.
Cleanest Air Worldwide
Our air is characterized by the lowest particulate matter values and is extremely low in pollen and house dust, promising noticeable relief for allergy sufferers after just a few days of stay. In 2018, Bad Hindelang/Oberjoch was recognized by the WHO as one of the places with the best air quality worldwide.
Tradition and Culture
The cultural spectrum ranges from local evenings and traditional costume festivals to yodeling, alpine horn players, and traditional Bavarian folk dances. One of the oldest traditions is the "Klausentreiben" on December 5th and 6th, as well as the widespread custom of bonfires on the Sunday after the end of Carnival. The cattle drives (Almabtrieb) in September are also a must-see.

The ski area in Oberjoch is a cradle of skiing and has been recognized by the German Ski Association as the best family ski area in the Alps. Oberjoch is an ideal starting point for easy hikes, high-altitude tours, and the EDELRID (formerly SALEWA) via ferrata.
